Customer Reviews:
Disappointed
As some of the other reviewers have stated you either love the Breed series or you don't, personally i love the breed series and so far as of the books i have read this one was a huge disappointment. From other books in the series Leigh created an engaging story/plot that keeps you entertained and on the edge of your seat(or couch drinking a nice hot cup of coffee? lol) but in this installment of the series she wasnt able to accomplish that.

This book was mostly erotica, theirs no other way to describe it on account that more than 2/3's of the book is based on the way Tanner wants to "be with" Scheme. Starting in the very first chapter its all about having sex, it gets annoying after awhile, theres only so many times you want to read about sex(explicit btw. AND PLEASE before i offend anyone else who loves the Breed series at least let me explain my reasons, in other books in the series you have the mating heat start and then emotional feelings that evolve with the character(you get to see the feelings grow) but in this book most of the time is spent explaining in vivid detail sex and somewhere along the line towards the end she suddenly loves Tanner? The book was too focused on how much they craved each other( and btw the mating heat doesnt appear in the book till more towards the end) and didnt give you a story that made you want to connect with the characters. In the other books in the series the matings that happen make you like the characters, this book will probably make you horny( or make you want to shower...lol)

Overall i would say that if you are a big fan of the Breed series then read the book because its part of the series, if your just getting into the series then start at the beginning of the series or with another book in the series not this one.
loved it
A little confusing that Tanner didn't automatically know scheme was his mate and her name is just pathetic...who names their daughter scheme but hey I love all of Lora Leigh's breed books can't say the same for other writer's thought Kresely Cole could not go wrong but she has...Christine feehan...something lacking oh like finally getting to skler and dimitri's story or maybe even dominics story.
LOVE LORA LEIGH
Her stories are so great you cant put them down till your done reading the whole book, the breed series is awesome. Am ordering some of her other series's.
One of my favorites in the Breeds series!
Tanner's Scheme had me from the very beginning. This book was just so steamy and HOT! The whole concept that these enemies have been watching each other from afar for ten years thinking it was only because they were investigating each other rather than being drawn to their mates is great! Especially for Tanner, who have been watching her intimate life with such fascination and desire for someone he believed to be his enemy. I love how he doesn't know whether he wants to kill her or take her to bed or both.

And everything that has happened to Scheme with her father's torture and deceit creates a heroine who is strong but also cautious and slightly broken. Scheme is one of my favorite heroines in the Breed series. She had the strength and cunning to be a double agent and risk her life to betray her evil father. She knows she faces death and she still continues her quest to take him down. And when she is taken by Tanner, her loyalty to the Breeds is so strong that even the slight possibility that Tanner may be the Sanctuary spy keeps her from letting him help her, even though she knows she needs help and he is begging her to let him in. To me that is a fantastic character.

And not to mention the love scenes! They were some of the best in the series. The voyeurism aspect was a great twist. And with Cabal thrown in the mix, it only gets way hotter!!
Really dull
This was my first LL book. I adore love scenes, and even hot sex scenes if there is character and plot development, but I fell asleep with this book 3 times, so am giving up after 50 pages.

Main issues for me:
1-Sex scenes and dialogue really dull, like bad porn. Nothing extraordinary we have not seen before.
2-Checklist of stuff on nearly every page--her abortion, check, his sharp teeth, check, his sense of smell, check, her 'wanting him, sweet girl,' check, the f word at least 2 times a page, check, her working for Wyatt, where is he, check.... and so on.
3-Plot-supposed to be suspenseful, gets lost in all the checklists.
4-If the Bengals are supposed to be the hottest and most glamorous of the Breeds, well, this one is all mouth and no trousers, as the Brits say. He is sexual, hypersexual, but not sexy.

Editorial Reviews:
A sexy paranormal series set in a world where genetically altered Breeds and the humans who created them sometimes come together in the fiercest of passions.

After the Feline Breeds' main base is attacked, Tanner desires revenge. So he kidnaps Scheme Tallant-the daughter of a one-time high-ranking member of the Genetics Council. But when Tanner discovers that Scheme herself is a target of her father's ruthless mission, his vengeance takes a back seat to saving the life of the woman he hopes to claim as his mate.
